How to set up your e-mail on iPhone or Android

You can read your Trinico Cloud email on any iPhone, iPad or Android phone. On an iPhone or iPad, the quickest way is a setup file from cPanel that fills in the settings for you. On Android, you add the address in the Gmail app. Either way you need the email address and its password.

iPhone and iPad: the quick way

1. On the iPhone itself, open Safari and log in to cPanel (see Step 1 of the start-here guide).
2. Go to Email Accounts and tap Connect Devices next to your address.
3. Under Mail Client Automatic Configuration Scripts, tap the option for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and allow the download.
4. Open Settings. A Profile Downloaded line appears near the top. Tap it, then tap Install and follow the prompts. When it asks for a password, use the password of the email address.
5. Open the Mail app. Your address is there.

iPhone and iPad: adding it by hand

1. Go to Settings, then Apps, then Mail, then Mail Accounts. (On older iPhones: Settings, Mail, Accounts.)
2. Tap Add Account, then Add Other Account, then Mail Account.
3. Type your name, your full email address, the password of the email address and a description such as "Work". Tap Next.
4. Tap IMAP at the top.
5. Under Incoming Mail Server and again under Outgoing Mail Server, type the host name (mail.yourbusiness.co.za), your full email address as the user name, and the password.
6. Tap Next, wait for the ticks, then tap Save.

Android (Gmail app)

The Gmail app is on almost every Android phone, and it works with your Trinico Cloud address too.

1. Open the Gmail app and tap your profile picture at the top right.
2. Tap Add another account, then Other.
3. Type your full email address and tap Next. If it offers Manual setup, tap it.
4. Choose Personal (IMAP).
5. Type the password of the email address and tap Next.
6. Incoming server settings: server mail.yourbusiness.co.za. If it asks, the port is 993 and the security type is SSL/TLS. Tap Next.
7. Outgoing server settings: the same server name, port 465, SSL/TLS, and keep Require sign-in switched on. Tap Next.
8. Choose how often to check for mail, give the account a name and tap Next. Done.

Swap in your own domain. Wherever you see yourbusiness.co.za, use the part of your email address after the @. If your address is sales@smithplumbing.co.za, your server is mail.smithplumbing.co.za.
