Apple Mail (the built-in Mail app on macOS) connects to your Trinico Cloud mailbox in about 3 minutes via the standard "Other Mail Account" wizard.
Step-by-step
- Open Mail from your Applications folder. If this is the first time, the wizard will appear automatically. Otherwise go to Mail → Add Account from the menu bar.
- Choose Other Mail Account at the bottom of the list (NOT iCloud, Google or Yahoo). Click Continue.
- Enter:
- Name: your full name (this is what recipients see in the From field)
- E-mail Address: your full mailbox address
- Password: the mailbox password from cPanel
- Click Sign In. Apple Mail will fail the first auto-detect (this is normal - it tries Microsoft and Google first). It then asks for the server settings:
- Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server:
mail.yourdomain.co.za - Outgoing Mail Server:
mail.yourdomain.co.za
- Click Sign In again. The mailbox should connect.
- Choose what to sync. Tick Mail and (if you want) Notes. Click Done.
Apple Mail uses ports 993 (IMAP) and 587 or 465 (SMTP) automatically with SSL/TLS. You only need to set ports manually if your network blocks the defaults - in which case open a support ticket and we will help.
