Softaculous is the one-click app installer included with every Trinico Cloud cPanel hosting plan. It can install WordPress in under a minute - including the database, admin user and SSL configuration - so you can skip the manual setup entirely.
Step-by-step
- Log in to cPanel (see how to access cPanel ).
- Scroll down to Softaculous Apps Installer. Click the WordPress logo.
- Click Install Now.
- Fill in the installation details:
- Choose Protocol: https:// (recommended - your site has free SSL out of the box).
- Choose Domain: your domain name.
- In Directory: leave EMPTY to install at the root (yourdomain.co.za). Type
blogto install at yourdomain.co.za/blog. - Site Name: your business name.
- Site Description: a short tagline (you can change this later in WordPress).
- Admin Username: NOT "admin" - pick something less obvious like your first name or initials. (Brute-force bots try "admin" first.)
- Admin Password: let Softaculous generate a strong one - copy it to your password manager.
- Admin E-mail: a working e-mail address you check regularly. WordPress sends update notifications and password reset links here.
- Click Install. Softaculous creates the database, runs the WordPress installer, applies a default theme and gives you the login URL (typically yourdomain.co.za/wp-admin).
What to do immediately after install
- Log in to wp-admin and change your password again to one only you know (different from what Softaculous generated).
- Update WordPress, your theme and any pre-installed plugins. Most security issues come from outdated software.
- Install a security plugin like Wordfence (free) for an extra layer of brute-force protection.
- Delete the default "Hello world!" post and the sample page.
