How to restore a file or your whole site from a cPanel backup

Trinico Cloud takes daily backups of every cPanel hosting account and keeps them for 30 days. If something goes wrong - a bad plugin update, accidental deletion, a hack - you can roll back to any of those daily snapshots in a few clicks.

Three ways to restore

1. Restore one file (quickest)

1. cPanel → JetBackup (or Backups, depending on your plan).
2. Click File Backups.
3. Choose the date you want to restore from.
4. Browse the folder tree, tick the file or folder you need, click Restore Selected.
5. The file is restored to its original location. Your other files are not touched.

2. Restore the whole website

1. cPanel → JetBackup → Full Account Backups (or Home Directory Backups for files only).
2. Pick the date.
3. Click Restore. Confirm. The restore runs in the background and you get an e-mail when complete (usually 5 to 30 minutes depending on site size).

3. Restore a database

If only the database is corrupt (e.g. a botched WordPress migration), restore JUST the DB without overwriting your files:

1. cPanel → JetBackup → Database Backups.
2. Find the database, pick the date, click Restore.

What if I need a backup older than 30 days?

Daily backups roll off after 30 days. For longer retention, set up your own off-site backups - WordPress users typically use UpdraftPlus or BackWPup pointing at our FTP storage. The CodeGuard add-on takes its own daily snapshots and keeps them for 90+ days.
