How to enable Two-Factor Authentication on your Trinico Cloud account

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is the single most effective security control you can add to any online account. Even if an attacker steals your password, they cannot log in without the rotating code from your authenticator app. Enabling 2FA on your Trinico Cloud client area takes 60 seconds.

What you need

• An authenticator app on your phone. Recommended: Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password. Any TOTP-compatible app works.
• 2 minutes.

Step-by-step

1. Log in to your client area at clientarea.php
2. Click your name top-right → Security Settings.
3. Find Two-Factor Authentication and click Click here to Enable.
4. Choose Time Based Tokens. Click Get Started.
5. The page shows a QR code. Open your authenticator app, choose "Add account" or "Scan QR code", and point it at the screen. The app adds a "Trinico Cloud" entry that generates a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
6. Type the current 6-digit code into the page. Click Submit.
7. You will be shown a one-time backup code. Print it or save it in your password manager - it is the only way to log in if you ever lose your phone.

What changes after enabling

From now on, every login to your client area will ask for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app after you enter your password. The code refreshes every 30 seconds. The Trinico Cloud team can never see this code - it is generated locally on your phone.

Lost your phone?

Use the backup code you saved during setup to log in once, then re-enrol your new phone. If you lost both phone and backup code, contact us and we will verify your identity through other means before disabling 2FA.
