cPanel mail, Microsoft 365 or Professional E-mail - which is right for you?

Three different e-mail products, three different use cases. The right choice depends on team size, how mobile you are, and what features you actually use.

cPanel Mail (included with hosting)

If you already have cPanel hosting with us, you can create unlimited mailboxes on your domain at no extra cost. They work with Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and the iOS/Android Mail apps. There is also webmail at https://mail.yourdomain.co.za.

Best for: Sole traders, micro-businesses (1 to 5 users), websites that already have hosting with us, contact form submission addresses.

Limitations: No shared calendars or contacts, no Office apps, smaller storage per mailbox than M365.

Microsoft 365

The full Microsoft suite: Outlook with shared calendars and contacts, the Office desktop apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), OneDrive cloud storage, Teams for video calls and chat. Each user gets a 50 GB mailbox plus 1 TB of OneDrive.

Best for: Teams of 3+ where people share calendars, run video meetings, work on documents collaboratively, or have multiple devices (phone + laptop + tablet) that need to stay in sync.

Professional E-mail (Open-Xchange)

A standalone hosted e-mail and collaboration platform. Bigger mailboxes (typically 25 GB), shared calendars and contacts, productivity apps, but priced lower than full M365. No need to run cPanel hosting alongside it.

Best for: Teams that need professional collaboration features but do not need the full Microsoft Office suite. Common in design agencies, consultancies and non-profits.
